In the sharp, urban 90s world of dinner parties and feminist politics, Richard and Vanessa Lawrence are frontline troops.

Reviews
Leslie is a poet first, and his prose is exceptional... He has more in mind than merely telling a story. Berkhamsted Living
I love the descriptions of place and feel I know them and have been there. What a gift the author has too of conveying the nuances of thought and feeling! Caroline Weaver.

Sup leslie its ya boy P-fuzzle i be tripping on yo new book mannnnn
THis book deserves a prize for its characterisation alone.
Simple words, sharply drawn, the beginning pulls one in, I should like to finsh it.
Leslie, hope many people will fairly appreciate the rocky spiritual adventure of the 'frontliners' of a generation in your deeply reflexive writing. I am looking forward to read your next book very soon too!!!

A moving poetic novel.
Nicely written; Leslie Tate obviously has a genuine love of language.
this book was gripping
Beautiful simple reconnections of words with feelings...
This is a powerful novel that explores, in language that is vivid and poetic but also vigorous and tender, the business of being human.
