Reader Comments
A tense-woven novel, full of suspense and imagination. A bit remindful of Tolkien's style. Fascinating characters all symbolical of great human truths. An interesting social and political message for today.
There are passages of philosophy in this novel that elevate us out of the depraved, militarism that so clearly blights our present age. This is a realist fantasy that is especially suitable for young males aged 15 - 65.
The Buzzards of Zinn is a first-class adventure and natural history story in the tradition of Jefferies and Hudson that is engrossing to the reader from page one. This is not one to be missed!
A fast moving tale which never slackens pace, it is reminiscent of, and surely influenced by, Tolkien's great work, 'The Hobbit'.
Older children will love this fantasy and be able to lose themselves in this magical tale.
A remarkably imaginative allegory....the reflections of our world are particularly thought-provoking. I shall be avidly watching for this authors next work
Fantastic author!
A riveting tale and beautifully written
The Buzzard of Zinn is my choice, because not only is it a gripping
tale well-told, but it has a philosophical dimension of real depth and
power that is actually quite rare in contemporary fiction, reminiscent
of figures like George Orwell. I think it's important that writers as
serious as George Miller receive as much publicity as, if not more
than, young, trendy, superficial, two-a-penny celebrity writers.
Great Read!!
great fantasy novel with a contemporary poitical twist
The Buzzards of Zinn is like something we all know deep down to be true, yet no one until now has dared say it.
A brilliant moral fantasy fit to join the pantheon of British greats that includes Swift through Tolkien and Pulman.
A compelling journey into another world. Magical.
