Synopsis

Author's Biography

Annie Hardacre is the pen-name of a retired university tutor who grew up in the English countryside in the 1950s and who now likes to explore the remoter regions of Scotland and France whenever time permits.

To Play with Strangers is to like play chess? I found that the cover pictorially recapitulates the story very well. It is a wonderfully made book. We are so much in need of good quality books to entertain both our eyes and minds.
The cover attracted me first and then I was enchanted by the story. It is such a satisfying book from cover to cover.
An old castle, a lonely widow, a chilling night and a dangerous game. The lesson is: DO NOT play with strangers...

Play With Strangers reads like a 1970's Agatha Christie favoured with science, game theory, economic principles and even microbiology! It is an intellectually challenging book!
