Originally from Lyme Regis Lorraine Jenkin lives in Wales with her partner and three young daughters and wrote her first novel walking around South America with a tent and a toothbrush. "I don't write traditional Chicklit - my characters tend not to be chicks, but wellywearing, ruddy-cheeked folks who have adventures!"

Brilliant book!!
Brilliant writing
Good characters developing as the story unfolds.
I found that I couldn't put this down towards the end, as the plot really gathered pace, and the characters are so completely believeable. And you've got to fit all that writing around three wee girls! (and Huw!) Wow. Just brilliant!

A brillant take on life in rural mid-Wales. A funny, heart-warming read that anyone who enjoys a humorous peek at how the country-folk live will read from cover to cover.
This is a wonderful book, i bought it this weekend at the wyeside in builth wells and could not put it down! It was wonderful, refreshing original funny and heart warming. Good Luck!

I love Lorraine J's novels for their incredible mix of social consciousness, dirty washing, love and mud. With wonderful galleries of characters that are exactly as weird as real people actually are. And story lines that have me fooled until the very last pages. Already eagerly waiting for her next book...

Brilliantly funny page turner. Couln't put it down!
This is a cracking book! - clever, funny & touching.
A rollicking read that brings out a whole gamut of emotions in the reader - curiosity, pity, trepidation and joy! The characters are ones you want to wrap in a sheepskin rug and take home to meet your grandparents for tea whilst the narrative has more twists than a gymnast on the parallel bars at the Olympics. Fabulous!
