Synopsis
An inspiring story, using both exciting narrative as well as humour, and exploiting the full riches of the English language, to retell the biblical myth of Abraham and Isaac. The calm strong leadership of the patriarch takes a giant step forward for humanity, by abandoning the bizarre horrors of pagan rituals, including child-sacrifice, into more rational but no less transcendent beliefs. The perils of Isaac and the anguish of his mother Sarah are vividly portrayed in sensuous mesmeric verse.
Author's Biography
ADRIAN BROWN has had a long career of directing for television and the theatre, winning an EMMY for “THE BELLE OF AMHERSTâ€, and a BAFTA Nomination for “THE CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLEâ€. THE SCHOOL FOR WIVES won ‘Best Production’ in the London Fringe Awards. He has also had two volumes of verse published, winning several prizes, including the Strokestown Festival. Brown was dubbed “Grand Master of the Knights of Verse†by the Eccentric Club of Great Britain.
