Synopsis
In 1995, Barry Edwards is an ordinary bloke working on his astrophysics PhD until, one day, he finds what he thinks is a black hole. Years later he re-discovers it. His comfortable and prosaic life becomes a kaleidoscope of unimaginable adventures.
Author's Biography
William Pascoe is half English, half Australian. He is an immunoparasitologist which totally fails to explain his fascination with cosmology and astrophysics. He gave up research science and professional science long ago. He now works for the Health and Safety Executive and has, arguably, one of the most interesting jobs on the planet.
Reviews
“...a story of broad scope with a quite original apocalypse premise. The novel is very easy and enjoyable to read with a fast pace, intriguing plot and occasionally thought provoking ideas.†Science Fiction and Fantasy, Editor: Antony. Dec 2009
“Nemesis ex Nihilo is a well developed novel... Its real strength lies in the depth of the characters and of the observation of people’s behaviour living on a planet that is facing destruction.†Waterstones, ST NEOTS

Reader Comments
A brilliant book which took me by surprise, slightly quirky.!
I didn't know if I was reading a serious or comic fiction, a science fiction or fantasy or a scientific journal. Will Pascoe's knack of combining so many genres into one cohesive and entertaining (black) whole is pure genius. I can't wait to read the sequel or indeed the prequel...Barry Edwards the nerdy little......!.Excellent.
It's a fantastic read! Very unusual.
Few books are truly unputdownable, but this one is! The characters are so well observed, with genuine responses that you want them to succeed.
The technical aspects of the book are so naturally delivered that you don't notice that you're being educated. I have recommended this to my 19 year old son who is equally gripped by the story.
Good fun and gripping to the end. Totally implausible storyline but somehow credible. Very enjoyable.
Ripping read. My celestial body quivering in anticipation for more astronomy. Can I quantum jump to an earlier read for the next one.
My illusions of shagpile were shattered
Marvelous
Some interesting characters and a great story.
A gripping book from start to finish.
