Reader Comments
A very clever cocktail of fiction, history and factual characters that concluded with a battle depicted with such detail that you could almost smell the combat. The unforeseen and very unanticipated twist at the end of the book leaves the reader eagerly awaiting the sequel.
A thrilling story line which had my gripped from the start to the finish!
One of those books that you find difficult to put down, great reading!

Good read
I bought this book for my father for Christmas but as he passed away on the 29th of December he did not get time to read it, so I decided to read it. It is not the sort of book I would normally read, but I was absolutely gripped by it and cannot wait for the next part of the story.
Great book, well researched.
Could not put it down, had to finish it in a power cut with a torch!

Book of the year
It grew on me like a wart
A brilliant book, sat in my garden one sunny Sunday last year. I was transported to a time that was bought to life by the author's ability to set a scene of magnificent accuracy. It was an adrenaline packed journey through time. Can't wait for the next book.

Blooming good read!
Brilliant.
Great book, Great read, Great author
Outstanding story that not only covers a long forgotten battle, but also throws in the mix a lot of great humour, realism, excitement, sadness and horror! It is a book that you really don't want to put down once started, as it grabs your imagination so quickly, and takes you to a place that is so fantastic and realistic all at the same time. All credit to this first time author for producing a great first novel. Only criticism would be the length, as it was disappointing to reach the end I suppose. But according to the authors Facebook page the next will be nearly double in length! For that, I cannot wait.
