I very much enjoyed the read. I found it very interesting and relevant especially with the current controversy surrounding immigration. It's actually refreshing to read a book with such an open minded and realistic view point which actually highlights the reality of the situation. You are able to feel empathy towards a refugee as you realise that she's just trying to survive. I really believe this book deserves an award as it highlights important issues. Good luck to the author!

Awesome book :)
Breathtaking and amazing book
I would just like to take this opportunity to make a comment about this book because it really inspired me. It really opens your mind to the types of struggle a person can face. I cried whilst reading this book. Furthermore, the money is going charity. This book should deserves to win this competition as it has been written for a truly good cause.
I am so happy that this book has made it to finalist stages. In all honesty I only purchased the book as I was told by a friend that the money is going to orphans and I'm not much of a reader, but I can't believe how much this book opened my eyes. I never really considered how language barriers can affect a person so much and I often did wonder why refugees were coming to the UK. The book just really helps you realise that the only reason these people are fleeing their country is due to war and conflict as Latifa the main character is raped and has to get away. I felt this empathy in my heart at the fact she has to travel on the lorry and then to arrive in the UK to just want to fit in. The book makes you realise that small acts of kindness are important and that it doesn't matter where your from in the world, in the end everyone just wants to feel safe and loved. Thanks to the author for helping me realise this important factor. I think the book helps diminish racial attitudes. I certainly checked my opinion towards immigration.
This book is realy good and i think everyone should read it.
I actually couldn't put this book down. I love the way the writer uses flashbacks in the story, it's a clever way to inform the audience and I think it keeps a reader interested. I really feel this book deserves to win. I hope it gets lots of votes!
The book is inspired by real events, which gives resonance to the truth behind the Syrian regime. Dramatic embellishments aside, the hard hitting truth surrounding Syria is explored through the eyes of a middle class Syrian women called Latifa. The extents of what the regime is doing to innocent Syrian civilians is to say the least emotional and completely wrong. From gassed children littering the floor like musical statues to women being raped without remorse. The compelling truth behind what many Syrians have gone through just to survive. A really emotional rollercoaster as you read through the chapters hoping within yourself that the next chapter will bring happiness to these people. Once you begin to read you are fixed to the story line as it explores real life events. For all the bookworms this is a great read!
loved this book! made me cry my eyes out, so emotional. this book really deserves to win!
Wow, a very emotional and heart rendering Novel. Gets my vote without a doubt.
What can I say.....please vote for this book. Its amazing. Really makes you think snout how you view refugees. Sometimes they just really dont have a choice but to leave the country. I applaud the author for highlighting this issue. Exceptional book.
This book was absolutely amazing. Clearly the writer wants to highlight important issues and the book has been written to raise money for charity which is just fantastic. I enjoyed how the writer has used dialogue in the novel to make a connection with the audience. It's true to life and covers many issues. I really hope the author wins as she has wrote the book to raise awareness of what's going in Syria. A truly inspirational woman.

I felt like I was on a journey with latifa the main character. I can't believe she went through so much. The book explores so many issues, like the fact shes a refugee fleeing from her country escaping war. What an emotional rollercoaster of a journey. Definitely should win the prize as its for charity.

I really enjoyed the book it was excellent and I recommend it for people to read
fantastic book
This fantastic book deserves the prize award as it is based on the truth that many authors in the book industry do not cover much of. The author has built suspense all the way through the book and at the same time given us realisation about how other people on the other side of the world are facing hardship while we sit here comfy in our homes.
Very captivating read. Really enjoyed it.
Excellent book for a first time author providing true insight to the horrific situation in Syria.
