Reviews

“Miss Elliott is a supreme storyteller ... fantastic writing, laugh out loud comedy and moments that could easily provoke tears.” Philip Fisher, Britishtheatreguide.info

“Davina not only equals her first novel, but surpasses it by a country mile ... this ticks every box for me ... it’s a brilliant read!” Doug Mayo, Amateur Stage Magazine

“Are actors really like this? Yes, guilty as charged - my only regret is that I've finished it!” Susie Blake

“This is a dangerously funny book. Davina knows all our secrets and knows how to exaggerate them to great comic effect.” Harriet Walter

Brilliant book, written with far too much inside knowledge...... Witty, lovable characters. I couldn't put it down!
Such an enjoyable read, funny, touching, and a great look at the workings of backstage theatre, while the leading character, Judith Gold is a wonderful creation.
Brilliant middle novel of a fantastic trilogy.
This made me laugh so much – I think I’ve worked with some of these people, and some I wish I hadn’t! It’s all so true, and such a page-turner.
Very funny, and a great insight into the behind the scenes goings on of theatre life.
loved every page ...well observed, theatrical but human. Judith Gold the leading lady is an extremely talented actress she also takes no prisoners when it comes to her fellow actors incapacity to take direction,... that is her direction as she has all but dispatched the weak director chosen to do the job...the show goes on to triumph. well worth reading
