The Campbells from Camden Town
Synopsis
This delightful and charming family saga is set just after the Second World War. When Dickie Campbell returns to find that his home, like many other people in Camden, has been bombed, his family are forced to live with his mother-in-law in a two-bedroomed flat. They are subsequently relocated to a modern three-bedroomed house in the burgeoning town of Dagenham, Essex.
Dagenham represents a new start for the Cambpells, but the family experience difficulties in coming to terms with moving away from London, finding new jobs and making new friends. However, with all the family pulling together, they are able to endure the hard times.
