Reviews
"Simon Astaire’s masterful depiction of a broken man’s everyday life reveals his astonishing ability to wander in fields of consciousness where the confluent answers to life’s tougher questions, and a path to spiritual guidance in a turbulent world reside."
"It was a moment of carefree happiness captured on camera: father and son sharing a festive night out. The photo was to become Tom's most treasured possession, for the day after it was taken, his son Luke boarded Pan Am flight 103 to New York. Marking this year's 25th anniversary of the Lockerbie bombing, Simon Astaire's fourth novel is a searing study of loss and love. Alternating between the present day and 1988, the story reveals how Tom copes with the tragedy and ultimately learns how to live again. While it never shies away from the unremitting devastation of grief, this emotionally eloquent book is also an uplifting story of hope." HELLO! Magazine (Book of the Week)

"I find it a beautifully written and extremely moving novel. The feeling of Tom towards his son is so tenderly protective and compassionate, and his feeling so strongly over the stolen photograph of them together is so well written as to make it entirely credible and touching which in less sensitive hands it might not have been. I sincerely praise it and do so most enthusiastically." Jeremy Trafford, The Royal Society of Literature:

Fantastic read, I am a big fan of Simon Astaire and have read all of his books. I hope they make this one into a film.
